It began with a few boxes..big thanks to Ikea and Trademe!!
Which turned into a cot
Some drawers
And a rocking chair!
Next mission was curtains which 'Nan' said were easy to make - so we took her up on that!
Hung up some curtain tracksStitched the final pieces
And now the finished product - welcome to the babys room!
Drawers / change table when we add a mat on top
Moses basket - thanks to Nan and Granddad, babies first Christmas present!Cot
And then it was time for Sunday - so a picnic in the park was the answer. Under the shade of the Kauri trees..
Up to the top of One Tree Hill to see the view
Matt's loving his new compost bin - even happy to pose! Now he's after a mulcher...
Next achievement in getting things finished around here is the tiling. Slash back to stove all tiled
Tiles continue in and around the scullery bench
And skirting to both ensuite finished. It's great to see another couple of things ticked off!
And now lastly to other new things..well this isn't exactly new - but newly framed! A silk painting from Golden Bay which finally got to Auckland. Adds some lovely colour to the Kitchen!
And a little colour for the dining room too - another trip to Katie Gold while in Nelson and I found this..which also made it's way home!
So there's the big update around here. Off to take some 32 week photos..man we're slack at keeping up to date with that - however I don't love photos of myself.
Huge thanks to mum and Kate for trotting around Auckland looking at countless baby stores and helping get us sorted!
Also this weekend our rimu floor goes down - CAN'T WAIT!!

Nice to hear from you again! :-) Cool progress with your baby room (and everything else!). Word of advice about your new drawers ... we have the same set (got them in white when Samuel was born) ... they don't handle weight very well ... the base of the drawer sags out at the back. I'd recommend using good glue and tiny nails to keep them together. :-)
Look forward to the 32 wk pics hehehe :-)
Forgot to say - ikea baby chair is awesome too. If you get one I can mail you the padding bit for it. Samuel doesn't need that now :-) (oh and get the tray ... you won't regret it)
Here's a pic of the cushion

Sorry to fill up your comments heheee
Altogether two many photos of your mother in here...! Tiling looks really good. How about calling it a 'splash' back not the other :) Thanks for sharing all this with me.
